In 1 out of every 50 pregnancies, this type of pregnancy sometimes occur. In a common pregnancy, an egg is fertilized inside the fallopian tube and continues on its way to the uterus where it becomes attached and grows into a baby. There are several different things that can cause an ectopic pregnancy .Nearly all involve at least partial blockage of the fallopian tubes.

In uncommon cases, a fertilized egg will make its way all the way through the uterus and attach itself to the cervix or the inside of the abdominal wall. The possibility does exist however for a regular pregnancy and a tubal pregnancy to happen simultaneously. As long as the egg does not attach inside the uterus, an ectopic pregnancy is considered to happen.

Unfortunately, a tubal pregnancy inevitably will result in the termination of the pregnancy. Not terminating the pregnancy early enough often results in severe damage to the fallopian tube and even fatal complications for the potential mother. Methotrexate can be used to terminate pregnancies still in the earliest stages. Pregnancies in the later stages often require termination through surgery.

A tubal ligation significantly increases the chances of having an ectopic pregnancy where the woman is still able to become pregnant. The other causes for this pregnancy are taking fertility treatments, having had surgery on the fallopian tubes in the past, abdominal surgeries, removal of ovarian cysts, and use of an IUD as a contraceptive .

The brilliant news is that mothers to be that have had a tubal pregnancy in the past are 80%-90% chance of being able to have a normal pregnancy another time. Doctors tend to monitor subsequent pregnancies very closely following an ectopic pregnancy.

An ectopic pregnancy is normally be seen around six to seven weeks into a pregnancy. This is about the same time that signals of pregnancy in general begin to be noticed. Notably, a tubal pregnancy often does not actually return a positive when using a home pregnancy test. Unfortunately, this results in women usually becoming aware of an ectopic pregnancy when complications happen.

Pain and tenderness in the abdomen are usually the first signs of problems. Pain is most often experienced on a single side of the body with no single area able to be pinpointed. Irregular bleeding in the vaginal area and pain when using the bathroom or coughing are other common symptoms. If the pain progresses to include pain in the shoulder, this may be a sign that the tube has broken.

Termination of the pregnancy is the only way to avoid a fatality. People frequently believe that abortion is morally not right. In the circumstances, the choices are easy. Save the mother or lose both. It is often helpful to discuss the present circumstances and your emotions with a clinical therapist or with your church’s hierarchy.
Thanks for reading our article, check out PregnancyRx.com for information on < First Signs of Pregnancy, Test Tube Conception or Cord Blood Bank take a look at our informative site.
